Also: Thomson Gale’s Nineteenth Century U.S. Newspapers and ProQuest Historical Newspaper and American Periodical Series Collections are
both excellent collections. Unfortunately, you have to be a member of a library
that subscribes. See this page for a
list of key titles in both collections. Another nineteenth- and
early-twentieth-century periodical with good baseball coverage was Harper’s
Weekly, and a number of libraries have subscriptions to a nice searchable
archive of it.
